Yes, I know it sounds harsh, but that is the reality.
You are either busy living, or busy dying. You cannot be both.
You can have positive thoughts - new ideas, new places to visit, or how grateful you feel about your life;
Or you can have negative thoughts - how depressing your life is, how weak the economy is or how old you are getting.
It's possible to have both thoughts, because we are capable of both, but NOT at the same time. When you think of uplifting thoughts, your mind, your body and your spirit expand. You feel elated, happy, positive. When you think the negative thoughts, your body contracts, your energy feels depleted and you get a 'what's the point' attitude.
If there is any part of yourself that wants more from life, that part is in a healthy state of mind. More equals growth, and to grow means to change.
Let me explain why CHANGE is necessary, and why we are so afraid of it.
Many people think that change means becoming a different person, but that is not the case at all. Change means evolving into a better person. It is the natural progression of life. The same way that water carves a pathway out of rock, and changes the shape of the rock, is how we grow and create new pathways for ourselves.
We are constantly evolving, as a race, in technology, in nature. Our brains are wired to continually seek more, and to find quicker ways to do things.
However, we also have a survival brain which is wired to protect us from getting hurt or dying. It operates from memory and past experiences, and it keeps us from moving forward in order to protect us.
If you insist on keeping things the way they are, in order to keep you safe, you cannot evolve. If you hold on tight to beliefs that shaped you as a child, you make your world smaller and smaller. Fear takes hold of you and you allow your survival brain to dominate.
The two parts do not work together, and this is why we have conflict inside.
The way to get out of your fear is to let your survival brain know you heard it and show it that you learnt from it, then you will be able to move forward.
You have an internal guidance system, or GPS, that always alerts you to danger. You can train your brain to listen to your GPS and learn to trust it. Just like with relationships, the more leeway you give it to prove to you that it can be trusted, the more you will be able to.
As your trust in yourself develops, you can start to live a fuller, happier, more joyous life. You start to allow the flow of ideas, money, creation and abundance in, and that is where the magic happens.
If you keep yourself in your 'comfort zone' you will not grow. And if you are not in the business of living, of life seeking life, then you are in the business of dying.
The choice is up to you.
